Marjan Safai gave the European visitors the start they needed by beating Amanda Marques, she lost the opening game before winning a close second game that proved to be the spur for victory.

Furthermore, they won every match in three straight games. Matias Contreras overcame Marcelo Aguirre, Felipe Olivares defeated Danilo Toma and the two young Chilean teenagers combined to win the doubles.
